feeling patriotic

June 30, 2008

A very good friend and I are going to the DC area to visit another very good friend and her baby girl.  Since both these friends comprise about 60% of my readership, I assume they know who they are.  I’ve never been to DC and now I’m going for July 4th.  Kinda cool!  I hope to catch up with old friends, see a few sights and take some pictures.

Okay, bear with me.  I’m still figuring out how to use my Bamboo and the photo manipulation software that came with it.  So, you get subjected to what I’ve been churning out.  Lucky you!

Presenting Mr. Ball goes to Washington:

someone felt left out

June 23, 2008

Ball was quite upset that he didn’t get to go to the Dominican Republic.  So, I made him a picture so he could at least pretend he was there.

Happy President’s Day!

February 18, 2008

What are we supposed to do on President’s Day?  Free a slave?  Cross a river?  Tax your neighbor?
According to tv, I’m supposed to go purchase a mattress at a drastically reduced price.  Thanks Abe Lincoln!

Ball always finds the baby in the King Cake.  He’s lucky like that!

Gettin’ Ready for Halloween!

October 2, 2007

I love October!  The weather starts to cool down and I can start wearing layers and light sweaters and all the closed-toe shoes that have been sitting in my closet collecting dust.  The leaves start showing their true colors and the air is crisper.  My paleness becomes acceptable once again.

But, best of all is Halloween!  When scary becomes main-stream.  When it’s okay to be a little weird and decorate with skulls.  I started putting out my Halloween decorations last Saturday.  It’s fun going through the box and unearthing all the things I forgot I bought at the after Halloween sales last year.  My living room is gradually becoming appropriately creepy.  I don’t do the faux hay bales and the cute smiling pumpkins.  Nuh, uh.  I got the skeletons, the candles, the spiderwebs and tons of spiders.

I brought one spider to work to play with Ball.  I think they are becoming fast friends.

I just walked through a web, do you see a spider on me?

Happy Labor Day!

September 3, 2007

Hope those of you with jobs have the day off work today. My husband doesn’t. He works for a company that doesn’t believe in holidays, just in making money. That’s why he’s going back to school. All my four years of college really got me was being able to get a job where I don’t have to work on weekends and holidays. It was worth it!

Dress Code

August 2, 2007

Yesterday, I received an email from my supervisor to the entire office reminding us that a VIP was going to be visiting today and to dress appropriately.  “Office casual” isn’t good enough for some people, I guess.  Knowing that most of the women in the office wear black and white when they are dressing to impress, I choose bright green and brown.  I will not conform!

Rubberband ball decided to go with a white shirt and blue tie combo.  He usually does lean toward understated elegance.

Have that report on my desk in the morning.
